Edit PDF text. Fix the wording without rebuilding everything
For a focused correction, detect existing text and edit the block found on the canvas. Keep the original PDF available to compare numbers, line breaks, and nearby elements.
Steps
- Import the PDF and show the page that needs a correction.
- Choose Make text editable to detect native text or run OCR on an image.
- Select the block, change its content, and check its font, size, and position.
- Zoom into the correction, review the exported preview, and save the PDF.
A focused correction, not a full conversion
Existing text is analyzed with its position, size, color, and font hints. You can correct an amount or phrase on the PDF page instead of moving the whole document into a word processor.
For a scan, the same action uses OCR. Recognized text is placed over the image and needs closer review when the background includes texture, stamps, or a table.
Check details that change meaning
Read dates, decimals, reference numbers, and names character by character. A longer line can wrap differently or move close to a signature, image, or border.
Compare the corrected page with the original before replacing your source copy. If many paragraphs need rewriting, Word export may help, but it requires more layout checking.
What the export does
PDF export follows the editor view, including added text, masks for detected text, and annotations. Open the produced file separately and check the last page and corrections near an edge.
Document detection and editing run in the browser. Free output carries the watermark; a clean-export credit or Pro removes it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change just one word in a PDF?
Yes. Detect the page text, select the relevant block, and replace the word. Then check the line width and alignment.
Will the original font always be reproduced?
Detection keeps style information, but an exact font or spacing may not be available. Review the correction visually.
What if the PDF is only an image?
Run detection or OCR. The result is editable blocks over the image and needs proofreading.
Does editing text delete the original PDF?
No. The editor works on the imported session. Keep the source separately for comparison.
