Privacy is a threat model
A medical, HR, legal, or client document should not go to a service merely because it is convenient. PDF Scene’s ordinary PDF processing stays on the device, but your system, backups, and destination portals still matter.
The Pro AI assistant is different: it sends an instruction and structured context to a cloud provider. Do not use it when the document cannot enter an external context.
Check the final file
Import locally, edit, and open the result before moving it into shared storage. Check pages, annotations, and information that should not be disclosed.
Local processing reduces transfer to PDF Scene; it does not replace disk encryption, updates, or access policy.
Frequently asked questions
Does PDF Scene receive a confidential PDF?
Ordinary PDF operations run in the browser and the binary is not sent to PDF Scene for editing.
Does the AI assistant use the same model?
No. The request and required context go through a cloud API; check the policy before use.
Does local processing secure sharing by itself?
No. Also assess device, backups, storage, and recipient controls.
