PDF AI assistant. Drive your document with natural language
Describe what you want changed: fill a field, remove a highlight, add a note. The Pro assistant proposes and applies the action on the canvas. File editing stays local; to generate the reply, your messages and a structured document excerpt go through our API to an AI provider (OpenAI), using credits.
Steps
- Open PDF Scene and import your document.
- Go Pro, then open the AI assistant (sparkles icon).
- Type your request (credits included each calendar month with Pro).
- Review the preview and export without a watermark with Pro.
What the assistant may receive
A request such as “fill the date field” or “remove this highlight” must become canvas actions. The assistant is not legal review and should not invent a value missing from the document.
The request can contain your instruction and structured context—fields, annotations, and metadata—needed to choose an action. The complete PDF binary is not sent for editing.
When to use ordinary editing
Use local tools for a sensitive correction, account number, signature, or data that must not enter an external context. AI is a manipulation aid, not a requirement for deterministic tasks.
Review every proposal before export: an ambiguous instruction, nearby field, or imperfect recognition can produce an unexpected action.
Credits and privacy
The assistant is Pro-only and consumes included or purchased credits. Cloud processing covers the request and transmitted context; read the privacy policy before using it with regulated documents.
Without the assistant, ordinary PDF operations remain local. “Local editor” does not mean every PDF Scene feature is network-free.

Is AI available on Free?
No. The AI assistant is Pro-only. Free keeps editing and export (with a watermark).
Do my files leave my device?
The binary PDF stays local for editing. When you use the Pro assistant, your instructions and a structured document excerpt are sent to our API and then to OpenAI to generate the reply.
How do credits work?
Pro includes 2,500 credits per calendar month. Top-up packs are available. Unused included credits do not roll over; purchased pack credits remain available while your Pro access is active.
