Reorder PDF pages without rebuilding the document
When the pages exist but the sequence is wrong, the Pages panel lets you rebuild the order visually. The operation keeps page content and changes its position in the document.
Steps
- Import the PDF and open thumbnails.
- Identify the cover, main documents, and appendices.
- Drag pages into the recipient’s reading or submission order.
- Check numbering and export the reordered dossier.
Build a clear reading order
Start with the page that explains the file, then place forms, evidence, and appendices in the order the recipient expects. Thumbnails reveal duplicates and isolated pages.
After a merge, imported file order is not necessarily the final order. A page can move within the document or be inserted from another source.
Order is not the same as selection
Reordering keeps every page. Deleting removes a page; extracting creates a new PDF from a selection. Decide separately what the recipient should see.
Page numbers, cross-references, and phrases such as “see next page” are part of the content. Moving a page does not rewrite them, so review the exported dossier.
Check after dragging
Open the final PDF and check the first page, a moved page, the last appendix, and portrait-to-landscape changes. This catches a page dropped in the wrong position.
Page sorting happens locally in the browser. Free output carries its watermark; a clean-export credit or Pro removes it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reorder only a few pages?
Yes. Move the thumbnails that need changing and leave the others in place.
Does reordering change page content?
No. It changes the page sequence, not the content on each page.
Can I reorder after merging PDFs?
Yes. Imported pages become one list that you can arrange before export.
Are printed page numbers recalculated?
No. Printed numbers remain part of the original content and need review.
